The West County Forum is honored to have Fiona Ma as our speaker on August 13th. Fiona Ma, CPA, is California’s 34th State Treasurer. She is also running as the Lieutenant Governor for California and will be on the November ballot. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about her. Today we heard Steven Khuong give a passionate and very engaging presentation on Artificial Intelligence. The Forum had so many questions that it was almost impossible for Steven to finish his Power Point. He shared the evolution of AI, today’s most important developments, its impact on society, and what the future may hold. We hope to have him come back soon to continue this very fascinating topic.

We had a lively Forum in June with Melinda McLain of the Good Table Café. In addition to hearing about the many activities available there, McLain also spoke about the importance of a vibrant and resilient community. The Good Table offers a “third space” where the public can not only enjoy their refreshments, but they can and also participate in yoga, hear music, take salsa classes, and find other ways to meet neighbors.
